Description
Job Summary:
Design and prepare complete and accurate working plans, charts, scale drawings and revisions for complex projects, integrating skilled engineering drafting methods and procedures with the operation and application of Computer Aided Design (CAD).  Working with various Project Managers, responsible for interfacing with other Hawbaker Engineering offices in producing record, contract, and presentation drawings, report figures and graphics. This salary, non-exempt position works with indirect supervision.

Essential Functions:  
* Prepare engineering drawings using AutoCAD civil design software and related civil design products.
* Assist in the civil design and preparation of site design and land development plans that include plat prep, grading, horizontal layout, roads, traffic control, drainage, utility, landscape, lighting structural, erosion and sedimentation, construction phasing plans, and other disciplines as needed.
* Support Engineering staff in a technical design capacity.
* Assist the Senior Civil Designer/CAD Coordinator in maintaining QA/QC procedures for project design documentation and CAD work.
* Generate existing ground models and existing topography from survey data.
* Archive construction drawings and specifications at prescribed intervals to prevent loss of computer data.
* Review and manipulate electronic files received from consultants and departmental contacts.
* Travel as necessary.
* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge of:
* AutoCAD® and related software.
* Microsoft Office software.
* Computer Aided Design (CAD).
* Civil engineering design including coordinate geometry, horizontal and vertical alignment design, cross-sections, utility relocation, and earthwork and other quantity computations.

Ability to:
* Communicate with tact and diplomacy, both orally and in writing, using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
* Manage production of multiple drawings and multiple projects at the same time.
* Read and interpret complex engineering plans and specifications.
* Use good judgment to identify alternatives to assist in the resolution of design problems.
* Manage time and workload efficiently which includes planning, organizing, prioritizing, and following-through on a variety of tasks, projects, assignments, and reports to meet deadlines.
* Work well with others under rushed deadline situations and be willing to work overtime.
* Be self-motivated and work independently.

Qualifications:
* Must have a valid PA driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
* Must be proficient in the use of AutoCAD® and related software and Microsoft Office software.

Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Computer Aided Design/Drafting, Industrial Design, Engineering Technology, or other related field.

Experience:
* At least four years of experience in a related field and a high working knowledge of AutoCAD® software required.
* Experience developing construction documents and land development plans from preliminary through final design required.
* Experience in site design, site development plans, field surveys, utility design, storm-water management, erosion & sediment control, grading plans, and roadway design preferred. 

Physical Requirements:
* Mobility to work in a standard office environment, use standard office equipment.
* Sit at a desk or in a vehicle on a daily basis.
* Walk and stand during field activities on an intermittent basis.
* Lift up to 30 pounds. 
* Stand, climb and hike to conduct field and survey work.
* Hearing and speech to communicate in person and by telephone.
* Good memory and recall necessary for accurate and timely transfer of data/information.
