Job Summary:
Operate loader to ensure safe, efficient and productive movement of aggregate material within aggregate operation. Perform
manual labor as assigned. This hourly, non-exempt position will work with or without direct supervision.
Essential Functions:
* Operate loader to ensure safe, efficient and productive movement of aggregate material within aggregate operation.
* Perform manual labor as assigned.
* Follow proper GOH / MSHA safety practices and procedures.
* Meet GOH performance and technical standards required to qualify for Yard Loader 1 position.
* Perform proper stockpiling and blending of material to satisfy quality needs.
* Efficiently load trucks.
* Interact professionally with customers.
* Assist with recognizing, identifying and addressing safety hazards such as undercut stockpiles, blind spots on yard and
Tri-axle Drivers in vehicles.
* Conduct pre and post-shift inspections.
* Perform as a team member.
* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
* Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally
Sundays.
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Knowledge of:
* Working knowledge of loader braking system and emergency steering.
Ability to:
* Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
* Learn and operate equipment.
* Identify and report potential hazards.
* Maintain personal and professional safety procedures.
* Communicate effectively.
* Work with or without direct supervision.
Qualifications:
* Any combination of education and experience that would provide the knowledge to perform the essential functions.
Education:
* Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Certificate or degree in heavy equipment operation preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum of 1 year of equipment operation experience preferred.
Required Training:
* MSHA ART/NM/ENM
* CPR/First Aid
* Production and Efficiency Mobile Equipment Training
Physical Requirements:
* Constant (67-100%)- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
* Constant (67-100%)- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
* Constant (67-100%)- Ability to enter and exit equipment safely.
* Constant (67-100%)-Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
* Occasionally (0-33%)- Ability to shovel.
* Occasionally (0-33%)-Ability to walk or work on uneven terrain.
* Occasionally (0-33%)- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Occasionally (0-33%)- Ability to work in a field environment with exposure to dust, inclement weather conditions, extreme
heat and cold, noise, vibrations, and a variety of petroleum products.
