Position Overview
GOH is seeking a construction-focused AI Implementation Leader to drive practical integration of artificial intelligence across heavy civil construction, aggregates, asphalt, and trucking operations.
At GOH, AI includes practical applications such as workflow automation, predictive analytics, optimization of dispatch and production, estimating improvements, safety enhancements, and data-driven decision support.
This role may be filled at the Specialist, Project Manager, or Director level, depending on the candidate’s construction experience, AI implementation background, and leadership capability.
The successful candidate will identify high-impact AI use cases, implement solutions that improve operational efficiency and safety, and deliver measurable financial results.
Core Responsibilities (All Levels)
* Evaluate field operations, plant production, dispatch logistics, job costing, estimating, safety workflows, and administrative processes.
* Identify AI use cases that improve equipment utilization, dispatch efficiency, estimating accuracy, safety performance, and production yield.
* Lead or support pilot programs and scale successful solutions.
* Integrate AI tools into existing systems (ERP, dispatch platforms, telematics, plant systems, estimating software).
* Develop KPIs tied to cost savings, productivity, and margin expansion.
* Collaborate with operations, safety, finance, IT, and executive leadership.
* Support training and adoption of AI tools across divisions.
* Ensure responsible use of AI, including data governance and cybersecurity alignment.
* Translate technical solutions into practical applications that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Education / Experience
* Significant construction operational experience, particularly in heavy civil construction, aggregates, asphalt production, trucking, or related materials operations.
* Demonstrated experience implementing AI, automation, advanced analytics, or other technology solutions that improve operational efficiency, safety, or business performance.
* Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
* This role may be filled at the Specialist, Project Manager, or Director level depending on the candidate’s construction experience, AI implementation background, education, and proven leadership capability.
Position Level Determination based on experience:
AI Implementation Specialist
* Tactical, hands-on role.
* Supports pilots, integrations, analytics, and reporting.
* Limited enterprise-wide strategic ownership.
* Typically 3–7 years relevant experience.
* Strong technical background in data science, machine learning, or AI-related fields preferred.
* Ability to quickly learn construction operations and apply technical solutions to real-world business challenges.
* Construction experience preferred but not required at senior leadership depth.
AI Implementation Project Manager
* Leads defined AI initiatives across departments.
* Manages cross-functional coordination and ROI tracking.
* Moderate strategic input.
*Typically 5–10 years relevant experience.
* Experience leading data, analytics, or technology-driven initiatives with demonstrated business impact.
* Ability to understand operational context and ensure solutions align with business needs.
* Strong construction operational familiarity preferred.
Director of AI Implementation
* Sets enterprise AI strategy and roadmap.
* Owns governance, prioritization, and executive reporting.
* Leads company-wide adoption and transformation.
* Typically 8–15+ years construction leadership and technology implementation experience.
* Strong operational credibility required (heavy civil construction or similarly complex operational environments preferred).
* Proven experience advancing technology capabilities and driving organizational transformation.
Knowledge Of
* Heavy civil construction operations and workflows, including project delivery, materials production, equipment utilization, dispatch, and job costing.
* Practical applications of artificial intelligence, automation, and data analytics in business operations.
* Enterprise business systems commonly used in construction environments (ERP, project management, dispatch, telematics, or similar platforms).
* Project management principles and technology implementation practices.
Ability To
* Identify opportunities where AI or automation can improve operational efficiency, safety, and business performance.
* Translate technical concepts into practical solutions for construction operations personnel.
* Lead or support complex technology initiatives involving multiple departments and external partners.
* Communicate findings, project outcomes, and recommendations clearly to operational teams and leadership.
Qualifications
* Experience working with cross-functional teams across operations, technology, and leadership.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Proven leadership capability appropriate to the level of the role (Specialist, Project Manager, or Director).
