Job Summary:
Effectively lead and coordinate all day-to-day painting and maintenance activities at shop facility. Manage the shop business to ensure that company equipment is maintained, repaired, painted and utilized as cost effectively as possible, as well as external business operations with customers. This is a key leadership position leading multiple team members. This is a “hands-on” position and individual may be required to work on equipment in addition to leading a team of technicians. This salaried, exempt position will work with indirect guidance from leadership.

Essential Functions:
* Purchasing and inventory control.
* Research products, locate and select potential sources of up-to-date safest materials to ensure cost-effective purchasing. 
* Complete accurate and concise quotes of required labor, equipment and materials needed to complete project as a business center. 
* Prioritize, plan and schedule all painting tasks, along with any maintenance repairs; make decisions with aid from other company leaders, utilizing all available information.
* Assist technicians in repairs, painting, and refurbishing GOH equipment.
* Work to ensure cost effective purchasing and inventory control of parts. 
* Assess skills and abilities of staff through meaningful evaluations and daily input to fully and efficiently maximize their contributions to the team.
* Assist in hiring and training new staff, including “hands-on” direction of tasks.
* Provide leadership, guidance and encouragement in the shop environment to assist in the continual professional growth of each team member.
* Ensure company meets all governmental guidelines for materials, tools, hazardous waste, air compressor certification, fire extinguishers, etc.
* Create and/or evaluate estimates of labor and material costs for internal and external customers. 
* Ensure proficiency of all processes necessary for painting and repairing mobile and stationary equipment.
* Make certain decals, transfers, stencils and other types of identification are properly installed to company standards.
* Ensure quality of work meets industry standards.
* Ensure all company policies, safety regulations and good housekeeping guidelines are observed.
* Proactively communicate with the leadership in other operations concerning equipment scheduling.
* Consistently work on personal growth plan.
* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
* Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.
* Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Knowledge of:
* Concepts and procedures used in automotive and industrial Painting.
* Methods, materials, and equipment used in automotive and industrial painting.
* Construction equipment.
* Lifts, scaffolding, etc. used in the painting process.
* Personal protective equipment.
* Basic computer skills and common commercial software.
* Purchasing Concepts
* Inventory systems.
* MS Office computer programs

Ability to:
* Learn, follow and enforce GOH Company policies and procedures.
* Work in team environment; share in tasks with other technicians
* Delegate tasks and responsibilities.

Qualifications:
* Demonstrated high degree of analytical ability and organizational skills.
* Proven leadership and team building experience, preferably in a maintenance or shop environment.
* Effective interpersonal verbal and written communications skills.
* Valid driver’s license for state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
* Prefer completion of formalized training in automotive or industrial painting.

Education:
* High school graduate or equivalent.
* Prefer additional training such as two years of college and/or graduation from a technical school.

Experience:
* Previous leadership experience preferred.
* Minimum three years of experience in automotive or industrial painting preferred.

Physical Requirements 
* Ability to work in shop or field environments with exposure to dust, welding fumes, exhaust vapors, confined spaces, and inclement weather conditions.
* Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
* Ability to work in an environment with products used in automotive and industrial painting.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to work at heights.
* Ability to stand for long periods bend, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, and climb on and off equipment safely.
* Ability to work indoors with noise and environmental conditions that can be dusty and dirty with exposure to exhaust fumes, paint fumes, welding fumes, dust particles, confined spaces, chemicals and solvents.
