Description
Job Summary:
The staff tax accountant will perfrom a variety of tax related activities as outlined including sales tax returns, property taxes, payroll taxes and other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
*Record State/Use tax returns for multiple states.
*Prepare Business Privilege Tax Returns: currently file in numerous cities/regions, added as required at work location.
*Process property taxes: maintain list, pay taxes, bill back to lessor as necessary.
*Record Non-PA resident withholding tax.
*Complete payroll tax returns-FIT, State, FUI, SUI, Local.
*Respond timely to tax notices.
*Create new vendor set ups.
*Complete census surveys.
*Enter new asphalt material codes.
*Process scrap tax.
*Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
*Special projects as directed by CFO, Controller, and Asst. Controller.
* Travel and/or drive personal vehicle to trainings, meetings, & events etc..
*Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office software applications.
* Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks quickly and accurately.
* Ability to work in teams or independently.
* Understanding of basic accounting processes and reports.
* Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
* Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
Experience:
*1 year of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
* Constant (67-100%) Use/operate basic office equipment such as phones, computer, adding machine, file cabinets, copier, etc.
* Constant (67-100%) Communicate over the phone with customers, vendors, and GOH employees.
* Constant (67-100%) Talk and hear in conversations with customers.
* Constant (67-100%) Able to see and read PC screens, read normal type size print.
*Constant (67-100%) Normal vision and hearing range.
* Constant (67-100%) Use fingers/hands to type and file.
* Constant (67-100%) Use/operate basic office equipment such as phones, computer, file cabinets, copier, etc.
*Frequent (34-66%) Bending, stooping, stretching, and prolonged standing.
* Occasional (0-33%) Lift and/or transport items weighing less than 25 pounds from one location to another throughout shift.
This is a safety-sensitive position
