Description

Job Summary:

Work closely with Foreman, Plant and Equipment Operators to obtain knowledge of proper safety practices, as well as the day‑to‑day practices and operation of an aggregate facility. Demonstrate knowledge on the operation of light equipment such as skid steers and water trucks. Learn the daily quality control of the aggregate operations to ensure the quality of the materials produced meets specifications. This hourly, non‑exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.

 

Essential Functions:

* Work closely with the Foreman, Plant and Equipment Operators to obtain knowledge of proper safety practices, along with the day‑to‑day practices and operation of an aggregate facility.

* Maintain housekeeping in and around plant area including shoveling, hosing, and general cleanup.

* Obtain representative samples and perform specific tests of each material produced on a daily basis.

* Maintain a thorough knowledge of applicable test procedures and material specifications.

* Obtain knowledge on how to operate light equipment such as skid steers and water trucks.

* Follow proper GOH/MSHA safety practices and procedures.

* Identify and reject any material that does not meet specification.

* Learn how to perform pre and post‑shift inspections.

* Work with and assist in identifying and addressing safety issues.

* Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.

* Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non‑traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays, and occasionally Sundays.

* Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

 

Knowledge of:

* Working knowledge of moving machinery parts and the dangers they pose.

* Basic Mathematics

 

Ability to:

* Learn and follow GOH Company policies and procedures.

* Obtain a current Pennsylvania Aggregate Technician Certification..

* Identify and report potential hazards.

* Maintain personal and professional safety procedures.

* Perform effectively as a team member.

 

Education:

* Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

 

Experience:

* None required.

 

Required Training:

* MSHA ART/NM/ENM

* CPR/First Aid (optional)

 

Physical Requirements:

* Constant (67‑100%)‑ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

* Constant (67‑100%)‑ Ability to shovel.

* Constant (67‑100%)‑ Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

* Occasional (0‑33%)‑ Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

* Occasional (0‑33%)‑ Ability to climb on and off of equipment safely.
